It's always unfortunate to hear about games that run into issues with online connectivity being required. It's even worse when the Windows PC or MAC version of a game depends on a connection even though there is not a multiplayer aspect of it. Unfortunately the consumers who bought the Windows PC Version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance were recently plagued by this issue. However, thanks to Konami, according to Polygon, this has been taken care of.

According to their article, the game was patched last night and now will allow players to play the game as it was intended to, offline or online depending on player preference. For those that download the new version of the game post-patch will not run into this problem according to their article, which states each comment was made by Steven Key, Konami's European Brand Manager for Kojima Productions.
