For those who have been following Revolution Software's Broken Sword series, fear no more on waiting for your episode two finale; it'll be here in January of 2014. Earlier today in an email, Revolution Software announced that Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse will release worldwide for PC on December 5th. With this we've also been informed that Revolution Software will be running this Broken Sword adventure in two absolutely thrilling episodes, while concluding next year in January.
For those new to this bit of information, the game set crowdfunding records for a UK-developed game back in September of 2012, when it raised 850,000 USD from 15,000 backers on Kickstarter. Those that pledged to receive a PC, Mac, or Linux copy of the game will get each episode as it becomes available. Thanks to the PR team we've also been told that the first part will debut on PC, Mac, and Linux through Steam, GOG.com, and Revolution Software's own website based stare on December 4th, with a PlayStation Vita version to follow later in the month. For the PlayStation Vita this is good news thanks to the success of The Walking Dead Season 1, and surely will mean great things to come for Broken sword as well, but none the less it's truly amazing to see another similar play style making it's way to the touch, motion sense, and analog based hand-held. Player's as noted before will see the final episode of the game something in January 2014 where it will be published on PC, the iOS and Android versions will also follow shortly after the PC episode is released.
“Whilst this is very much a classic Broken Sword game in terms of production values and sense of adventure, we’re really breaking new ground with The Serpent’s Curse,” said Charles Cecil, Founder & CEO, Revolution Software. “The success of our Kickstarter appeal has allowed us to be hugely ambitious—each episode is a full sized game in its own right. So we will be publishing two action-packed adventures in close succession. The early response to the game has been hugely positive with some suggesting this is the best Broken Sword yet.”

The story of the game takes place when a mysterious painting is stolen during an armed raid on a Paris based gallery, a lawyer by the name of George Stobbart teams up with a rather feisty journalist by the name of Nico Collar, are both thrown in together to investigate this case. Player's will travel from Paris, to London, and onward to other exciting locations, but eventually the the hunt will become a race against time s mysterious dark forces from Europe's dark and mysterious past are awoken from their sleep. Broken Sword characters old and new will be encountered - but who can George and his feisty partner Nico trust? Their journey will reveal a conspiracy that is older than written word, whose ancient heresies will cause innocent blood to spill once more.
Luckily for those familiar with older games players will enjoy a classic point-and-click style adventure that will feel utterly contemporary, Revolution Software's; Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse will reunite key members from the Broken Sword team, with layout artists from studios such as Disney, Aardman, and Universal creating what will be beautiful, breath taking, and classically drawn backgrounds. The game will also feature rich, lavish HD graphics that will evolve the way the drawn backgrounds and art-style used in the game will look in the fan fared previous entries in the Broken Sword franchise and will surprise player's as it brings the graphics to a new level.
