Keiji Inafune will always be remembered as the mastermind who created the most beloved franchises to come out of Capcom; Mega Man. Also recently known for his title, Soul Sacrifice, which has just recently dominated itself as one of the top end games on the PS Vita. After a rocky history with the team, Keiji set ways stating that he would not be returning, and in turn abruptly ended what was known as one of the greatest game series of all time. Having succeeded in making his mark through many great titles, Keiji has once more decided to return to his origins with his up and coming title - Mighty No. 9.
Mighty No. 9 is described by Keiji as a true Mega Man spiritual successor that only us the fans could truly make help happen. Announced on Saturday (August 31st, 2013), Keiji sought a 900,000 USD goal that was quickly met today. Exceeding over one million USD, Keiji has succeeded in the Kickstarter that will bring the game to Windows, Mac, and Linux during its initial launch and has not ruled out consoles such as the XBox 360, PS3, PS4, XBox One, and of course the Nintendo Wii U.
For players the game will be set to release sometime hopefully in the next couple of years as Keiji and his legendary development team get hard to work on it. Returning to the golden days of side-scrolling, platform running, gun shooting, and enemy slaying days of the 8-bit era seems to be returning with this HD hand drawn entry! Stay tuned as we bring you more information regarding this title.
One can only imagine what this game will look like in true 1080p HD |
Note: For the assured console versions the game needs a Kickstarter goal of 2,500,000 USD, which will assure a console launch. We can only hope this happens. For those of you interested please click the image below to find yourself at the official Kickstarter page for Mighty No. 9 .
