As reported earlier, Tom Clancy, author of books such as "Patriot Games," "Hunt for the Red October," and "Rainbow Six", passed away at the age of 66 in his hospital room in Baltimore. In response to his death was the tragic reality that many of his accomplishments weren't just movies or books, but also games. Those very accomplishments were carried out with his collaberation with teams at Ubisoft. When this reality sat in it was time to reach out to them for their response. What left a warm smile on my face can be seen below.

"We are saddened to learn of Tom Clancy’s passing and our condolences go out to his family. Tom Clancy was an extraordinary author with a gift for creating detailed, engrossing fictional stories that captivated audiences around the world. The teams at Ubisoft, especially at the Red Storm studio, are incredibly grateful to have collaborated with and learned from him, and we are humbled by the opportunity to carry on part of his legacy through our properties that bear his name."

With their response it was heart warming to see that they plan on carrying on his legacy. With games under their belt with his name in it, Ubisoft could quite well do this, and it is amazing to see them show the initiative with the official statement below from Ubisoft as well.

"Regarding your questions, we will continue to create games and properties within the Tom Clancy’s brand universe, and we are humbled to be able to carry on part of his legacy in this way."

Our thoughts, prayers, and best of wishes to the teams at Ubisoft that are effect by this loss, but also the family and friends of Tom Clancy. We hope you all find solace in his passing and knowing his fans mourn with you.

For those at Ubisoft we look forward to seeing his legacy live on with you.
