Earlier this week CVG having sat down with Microsoft's corporate vice president Phil Harrison, they underlined the company's support for the XBox Kinect Version 2. According to this interview Harrison dashed any hopes fans like myself had of seeing a cheaper console, one that didn't include the Kinect.
According to the interview when asked he stated that the XBox One will always include Kinect, that the XBox One is indeed Kinect. They are not separate entities as many of us would hope. According to him the controller, the Kinect, and the XBox one are part of an entertainment ecosystem. That means to us that it seems Kinect will be a rather large focal point of this system.
According to the interview there is a possibility of a pack-in game to make the console worth its value, and in ways seemingly an attempt to win customers back from the dash to Sony's PS4 that is due out on November 15th of this year. While Microsoft has not given us a firm release date we can expect one closer if to not earlier than that of the PS4 to give Microsoft a head start against Sony.
